A convicted felon who possessed two firearms was sentenced on December 20, 2024, to two years in federal prison.
Devonte Oye Robertson, 29, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, received the prison term after an August 14, 2024, guilty plea to one count of possession of firearms by a felon.
At the plea hearing, Robertson admitted that on January 19, 2024, he possessed Sig Sauer and Smith & Wesson pistols after having been convicted of two felonies.
Robertson was sentenced in Cedar Rapids by United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams. Robertson was sentenced to 24 months’ imprisonment.
He must also serve a three-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.

Robertson is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
