NOPD Captures Caine Moore Over New Year’s Day Killing of Kayron Hall in Seventh District

On January 1, 2025, at about 7:20 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 8500 block of North I-10 Service Road.

Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male subject. EMS arrived and transported the victim to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The Orleans Parish Coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Kayron Hall.

Through investigation, detectives positively identified a 15-year-old juvenile and Caine Moore, a Black male, as the perpetrators of this crime.

On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the juvenile was arrested on Dwyer Road in the Seventh District by members of NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad, along with the Federal Fugitive Task Force. He was booked into the Orleans Juvenile Justice Center on charges of second-degree murder.

On Friday, January 17, 2025, Moore was subsequently arrested by members of NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad along with the Federal Fugitive Task Force. He was booked into the Orleans Justice Center on charges of second-degree murder.
