The star Major League Baseball player of the New York Mets, Juan Soto, visited the president of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD), Vice Admiral José M. Cabrera Ulloa, where they talked about the sports festivals and orientation programs carried out by the organization in a large part of the national territory.
The baseball player took advantage of his visit to congratulate the DNCD and highlighted the prevention plans that the agency develops to alert children, adolescents and adults about the terrible damage caused by narcotic substances.
Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa expressed his pride and satisfaction with Juan Soto’s visit and promised to continue expanding orientation programs in favour of Dominican youth.
“I want to congratulate you on your new contract with the New York Mets team, and I must thank you very sincerely for your visit. I want to tell you that you are an example for our youth and that your humility and nobility make you greater,” said the head of the DNCD.
During 2024, the DNCD impacted more than 20 thousand young people throughout the country with talks, delivery of sports equipment, conditioning of courts and installation of backboards, as well as other orientation and prevention activities.
