During the year 2024, the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD), through its Directorate of Chemicals and Precursors, has achieved important achievements in the regulation and control of controlled drugs and chemical substances.
DNCD said it implemented rigorous measures to ensure that controlled medicines and their raw materials meet all the necessary requirements for importation, which has allowed for more efficient and safer control.
It added that this effort “has been instrumental in protecting public health and ensuring the proper use of these substances.”
“In the area of controlled chemicals, we have strengthened regulation to prevent their diversion to illicit activities and ensure their responsible use in the industrial and commercial sectors,” DNCD said in a statement on its website. “
The statement added, “In addition, we have established procedures that facilitate the export of these substances, complying with all regulations and safety standards. This balance between trade facilitation and rigorous control is essential to maintaining the integrity of our borders and the security of our citizens.”
Similarly, the prescription validation and medication control platform “has experienced a notable increase in the number of users, reflecting the confidence of pharmacies, distributors and health centres in our system,” said the security agency.
“This growth motivates us to continue improving and adapting to the needs of the sector. These advancements underscore our commitment to community safety and well-being and our dedication to innovation and continuous improvement,” DNCD explained.
