Two men have been sentenced to jail following targeted operations by Bedfordshire Police’s Boson guns and gangs team.
Oliver Hamilton was originally jailed in August 2023 for drugs offences.
The 23-year-old had featured on an episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody for his role within the Biggleswade drug network.
Months after his release in December 2024, intelligence from a seized phone showed Hamilton was using a runner to continue his drug-dealing business.
Officers executed a warrant at a flat in Stotfold in February 2025, where they discovered two phones belonging to Hamilton.
Cell mast data showed both phones moved location over Christmas last year to Hamilton’s family home, where he was continuing to text customers about where they could pick up drugs.
The evidence of Hamilton’s drug supply in the exchanges was vital in securing his conviction for being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
On Friday (21 March), Hamilton, of Valerian Way, Stotfold, was jailed for one year at Luton Crown Court. The judge also sentenced him to serve the remainder of his initial eight-year term.
In the same week, the specialist team jailed a second Biggleswade drug dealer for more than five years.
The unrelated investigation was launched in January 2023 after Alexander Clarke was involved in a collision in West Road, Sandy.
The 24-year-old attempted to flee the scene but was detained by witnesses until police arrived.
Officers found Clarke to be in possession of more than £1,000 in cash. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving offences, and his phone was seized.
Upon analysis, Clarke’s phone revealed a string of messages indicating his involvement in the supply of illegal drugs.
Whilst on bail, Clarke was detained in Buckinghamshire in April 2024, where a second phone was seized, which unveiled further drug-dealing activity.
In August 2024, a warrant was executed at an address in Buckden, where Clarke was arrested on suspicion of numerous drug-related offences after officers found wraps of cannabis, cocaine, digital scales and three phones.
On Thursday (20 March), Clarke of Malthouse Court, Leafield, Oxfordshire, was sentenced to five and a half years imprisonment at Luton Crown Court, after being convicted of six drugs offences relating to the supply of cocaine and cannabis and two counts of possession of items purchased through the proceeds of crime.
