A man will appear in court charged with the murder of a woman in Croydon.
Earlston Bennet, 57, of Towpath Way, Croydon, was charged with murder on Monday, 14 April.
He will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 15 April.
An investigation was launched after officers were called to an address on Towpath Way, Croydon, at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, 12 April.
Police arrived shortly after, but despite the best efforts of attending emergency services, a 58-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
While formal identification has yet to occur, officers have named the woman Sarah Reynolds. Specialist officers are supporting her family.
It is believed Bennet was known to Sarah, and detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
Detectives continue their work to build a picture of Sarah’s life in the weeks leading up to her death. They are keen to speak with anyone who has interacted with or seen Sarah in recent weeks.
