New Orleans Police are asking the public’s assistance with locating a suspect wanted for aggravated assault.
Wanted is John Cornelius Smith (pictured), a Black male.
According to investigators, around 1:45 p.m. on January 30, 2025, in the 5200 block of General De Gaulle Drive, John Cornelius Smith fired a handgun at the two victims and then fled.
Note that John Cornelius Smith is considered armed and dangerous. Citizens should not approach him and should call the police instead.
