The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating two subjects identified as persons of interest for questioning in the ongoing investigations of two homicide incidents that each occurred on July 31, 2024, and that are believed to be related.
Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives have determined a connection to be present between a homicide that occurred at about 1:23 a.m. on July 31 at the intersection of Crowder Boulevard and South I-10 Service Road in the Seventh District, and another homicide reported at about 7:18 a.m. that same day in the 3700 block of Texas Drive in the Fourth District.
Through further investigation, detectives have identified Tranell Edward Franklin (pictured at left, black male) and Jamal Washington (pictured at right, black male) as persons of interest in both investigations.
While neither subject is wanted on criminal charges at this time in these investigations, detectives feel that both subjects have knowledge of information vital to these investigations and seek to interview them.
