Agents of the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) and members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, occupied two cushions, filled with small cocaine fibers, cut in a grid shape, during inspection work carried out in an international shipping company, located in the National District.
The agents, under the coordination of a prosecutor, went to the company, where they located a cardboard box containing several stuffed animals and cushions, with the name “Thank you for this blessing I love you”, which according to the manifesto would be sent to France.
The portions in a grid shape were impregnated inside the cotton of the cushions, another modality of drug trafficking networks that seek to circumvent the controls of the security agencies.
The box was sent by a woman, with an alleged address on the first street of the Pantoja sector, Santo Domingo Oeste and would be received by a man who supposedly resides on Grande Bretagne Avenue, France.
“The small fibers of the substance, occupied inside the two cushions, weigh more than 400 grams of cocaine, according to the analysis of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF).”
The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the DNCD are deepening the investigations into the discovery of the portions of cocaine under this new modality.
The authorities have continued to improve their operational readiness against criminal structures, which seek all forms and devices to traffic substances through the country’s airports and ports.
