Dominican Republic’s Authorities Seize 766 Packages of Cocaine Weighing 791kg in Pedernales; Four Dominicans, Two Haitians Detained

The National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) recently announced the seizure of 766 packages of cocaine during a coordinated operation with the Navy, Air Force, and Army near the coasts of Pedernales.

The total weight of the confiscated drugs is approximately 791.05 kilograms, as confirmed by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF).

This operation involved extensive interdiction efforts, including search and tracking missions to prevent narcotics from landing along the Laguna de Oviedo shores.

As a result of the operation, six individuals—four Dominicans and two Haitians—were detained and are currently under the jurisdiction of the local Permanent Attention Court as investigations continue.

The DNCD and the Public Prosecutor’s Office are working together to further investigate this significant drug bust.
